Respecting the 5 Cs for Great Enterprise Digital Signage
Alexandria Real Estate (ARE) successfully leveraged the power of digital signage across all their campuses. ARE specializes in developing and leasing lab and office space to the Life Sciences Industry. A key and consistent component of each of their locations is their unique digital signage, a focal point in each of their campuses. Using the 5 C’s, this panel discussion will share the complexities and challenges of creating the ideal enterprise-wide content strategy. It will highlight how helpful user-generated content can be, and how well-curated dynamic content can add substantially as a focal point in the mix. We will review the typical challenges of implementing and consolidating a large digital signage network and the benefits realized if done correctly. At the same time, we will also reveal and learn from some major mistakes that have been made in setting up other enterprise signage.

Retail Media Networks: Why Consumers and Advertisers are Leaning into DOOH
The biggest retailers are merging their online and offline solutions to enable a seamless customer experience however shoppers wish to make their purchases. According to eMarketer, 93% of grocery sales were in store, meaning the need for retailers and advertisers to engage with shoppers in real life remains paramount. Retail media networks (RMNs) are leaning into digital out-of-home (DOOH) to reach consumers right at point of sale, in the moment of decision-making. This session will explain how RMNs are being structured from an omnichannel perspective, where DOOH fits into the approach, the data that can be generated from and applied to the entire RMN experience, how consumers perceive DOOH in-store and how DOOH is encouraging consumer engagement and purchase behavior.

How Cities Can Use Digital Billboards to Create Economic Development and Improve Public Spaces
Digital billboards easily garner more attention than their static counterparts. But along with that attention comes public scrutiny around safety and light pollution. For the city of West Hollywood, in which its billboards along Sunset Strip have made the area famous, the transition to digital has garnered a lot of interest (not only from advertisers, but architects) and serves as a road map (no pun intended) for cities to improve its landscape and generate economic development. Rather than resist new technology and billboards in general, the city has embraced both to its benefit.

Digital Menu Boards: The Value Proposition for Brands and Customers
With QSRs having upwards of 70% of transactions at drive thru, digital menu boards (DMBs) are becoming a when, not if. McDonald’s reached near complete system rollout of drive thru DMBs in early 2020, and RBI’s brands (Burger King, Tim Horton’s and Popeyes) will be the next to achieve scale. With this large, deployed footprint, brands are investing heavily in drive thru menu board experience, and McDonald’s already has “pay with stored card” functionality for drive thru transactions. Drive thru DMBs provide a unique opportunity to affect the highest proportion of your guests, arguably making this your most important digital channel – it is not just a menu. Achieving success with digital menu boards requires collaboration across customer experience, merchandising, technology and data. This session will help you understand the value proposition for digital menu boards – for both your brand and your customers – and get you started on a path that will set your organization up for success.

In-Flight Sales Analysis in DOOH: A New Way of Measuring Effectiveness
DOOH has long been considered as a medium that delivers on upper funnel performance metrics like audience reach and brand awareness. While this is still true, 91% of advertisers believe DOOH contributes to both upper and lower funnel key performance indicators. Lower funnel metrics are often measured at the end of a campaign, but in-flight sales analysis (ISA) allows marketers to understand how DOOH exposure influences consumer purchase behavior. This session will explain how ISA works, why advertisers are using ISA, what information ISA brings to buyers and how advertisers can learn from it, and why it is useful in an omnichannel campaign.

Case Study: AT&T Digital Kiosk at Sam’s Clubs
AT&T wanted to implement a fresh, compelling point of sale display with a consistent image in every Club as well as create an intimate environment for the customer to facilitate business. AT&T Mobility Services commissioned Kollins Communications, who partnered with Visual Communications and BrightSign, to create a best in class in-store, digital customer experience minus any conventional printed signage including price tags in a nationwide deployment. The solution, AT&T’s new digital kiosks, enable customers to take an in-depth look at its 5G wireless and broadband offerings, promoted on multiple digital screens and include interactivity with devices. Ultimately, over 560 kiosks were deployed in a 116-day timeframe despite the pandemic and tumultuous winter/spring weather. Even with pandemic restrictions on Club traffic, reports on customer interaction along with dramatically increased sales transactions lend credibility to the investment in the kiosk and accompanying on-going support, which is now in 589 Clubs.
