DSE 2022 Opening Keynote with Refik Anadol: Space in the Mind of a Machine
If machines can “learn” or “process” individual and collective memories, can they also dream or hallucinate about them? Since 2016, Refik Anadol Studio has been conducting interdisciplinary research on the relation between the human mind, architecture, and aesthetics to speculate responses to these questions. In taking the data that flows around us as his primary material and the neural network of a computerized mind as his collaborator, Anadol has been reflecting on new forms of narrating collective memory in physical and virtual spaces, including the blockchain. Coining the terms “AI Data Painting,” “AI Data Sculpture,” and “latent cinema,” Refik Anadol has invited his audience to imagine alternative and dynamic realities by re-defining the functionalities of both interior and exterior architectural elements. He tackles this by moving beyond the integration of media into built forms and translating the logic of a new media technology into spatial design. In this talk he'll share his studio's site-specific parametric data sculptures, live audio/visual performances, immersive installations, and NFTs, which collectively offer a dramatic rethinking of our many environments.

SoFi Stadium Keynote: Reimagining Digital Signage For Events, Sponsors, and Guests
As a global sports and entertainment destination, SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park have transformed the digital signage experience for fans. An entirely digital stadium, SoFi Stadium, home to the Los Angeles Chargers and reigning Super Bowl Champion Los Angeles Rams, has 90,000 square feet of digital LED in its seating bowl alone, over 2,600 screens and a television the size of 6.5 city blocks as its roof. When every sign is a TV and every TV is a sign, learn about the creative content challenges and industry-first opportunities the Vice President of Broadcast and Production Jason Cothern and his team encountered as they mapped out what meaningful content looks like from the menu boards and the exterior wayfinding signage to the 70,000 square-foot Infinity Screen by Samsung, the largest videoboard in sports.

Google Keynote: Redefine Your Customer Experience With Modern Kiosk and Signage Solutions
According to the Logicalis 2021 Global CIO Survey, 81% of CIOs believe that redefining the customer and employee experience will become increasingly important in the next five years. However, traditional platforms and legacy solutions are unable to keep up with these rising expectations. Current kiosk and digital signage solutions are expensive, unreliable, and overly complex, and businesses need technology that modernizes their experience without the difficulties involved in traditional systems. In this presentation, you’ll learn how cloud-based platforms reduce maintenance requirements and give your team the power to remotely manage any deployed device to deliver seamless experiences and become a leader in digital transformation. You'll also hear from one of Google's customers, Schnucks, and the process they took to choose a digital signage solution.
