Orange Barrel Media
Founder/CEO
Pete is founder and CEO of Orange Barrel Media, where he has led the company since its establishment in 2004. Recognizing that the future of this country was in its cities, OBM’s pioneering work in urban media has defined the company since its founding, and Pete’s primary focus today is developing partnerships that benefit the unique needs of the cities in which OBM does business.  OBM is now nationally recognized by cities and real estate owners alike seeking to implement programs that add to the character of urban places, with a particular focus on mixed-use developments and in entertainment districts. OBM has pioneered zoning changes allowing spectacular media in sixteen markets (and growing), including installing the first digital media in Washington, DC, Boston, Atlanta and other cities that had previously prohibited this type of land use. In West Hollywood, OBM was selected through a competitive process to design and construct the Sunset Spectacular project, which is the most architecturally and technologically sophisticated media object in the United States.
In addition to architecturally integrated media displays, OBM is a leader in the smart city infrastructure industry, with its interactive kiosk platform, IKE, which was launched in Denver and is currently expanding nationwide, with deployments underway and planned in cities such as Los Angeles, San Diego, San Jose, Baltimore, Detroit, San Antonio and Columbus. IKE revolutionizes wayfinding, city communication and navigation, enabling greater geographic and economic mobility for all.
Beyond his work at OBM and IKE, Pete is involved in real estate development, where OBM’s AIA-award winning office anchors a sixteen-acre site that has grown to include more than 500,000 square feet of office development, and in West Hollywood, where a partnership including OBM is developing a mixed-use property at the gateway intersection of Sunset Boulevard and La Cienega.
Pete serves as a Trustee of the Columbus Museum of Art and the Wexner Center for the Arts, and is actively involved in other activities and causes related to the arts and community development. Pete has a B.A. from Elon University.
